Dementia Friendly Wrexham’s Walk for Dementia Brings the Community Together at Erddig

On Sunday 14th September, Dementia Friendly Wrexham hosted its annual Walk for Dementia at the beautiful National Trust Erddig estate. The event brought together people from across the community to show their support for those living with dementia and to raise vital awareness and funds.

The walk was a heartwarming and inclusive event, set against the stunning backdrop of Erddig’s gardens and parkland. It was fantastic to see such strong support from local organisations, including Home Instead Wrexham and Flintshire, AVOW, Wrexham Community Agents, Wrexham County Borough Council, and Pentre Gwyn Older People’s Group (Memories). Their presence helped to create a truly welcoming atmosphere and demonstrated the power of partnership in building a dementia-friendly community.

Dementia Friendly Wrexham would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended, walked, volunteered, or supported the event in any way. Your involvement made a real difference and helped spread an important message of inclusion, understanding, and solidarity.

If you missed the event but would still like to contribute, the JustGiving page is still openhttps://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/dementia-friendly-wrexham-2025.

Every donation helps support ongoing work to make Wrexham a more dementia-friendly place for all.

Thank you once again to all who supported the Walk for Dementia – together, we are making a difference.
