Dementia Friends

Dementia Friends is a national initiative run by the Alzheimer’s Society. Dementia Friends sessions are run by local, trained volunteers known as Dementia Friends Ambassadors.

The information sessions are completely free of charge and last approx. 1 hr.
The aim of the information session is to improve people’s understanding of dementia and its effects.  The sessions are interactive and can be tailored to suit all ages. You are never too young to start learning about dementia and how you can support people in your family as well as your local community – we can run adapted information sessions which are designed especially for primary school children.

We would love to hear from any community groups, organisations, schools, shops, services and businesses that would like a Dementia Friends session.  We can come to you at a time to suit.

Individuals who would like to become a Dementia Friend can join a public information session. All upcoming dates can be found on our events page.
